Exactly on Saturday, 20th July 2019, Jade Restaurant collaborate with Soulmate Organizer to bring this first thematic private dinner in Medan. Through this event, guests was brought to reminiscing back to the flourishing era of Chinese entertainment in the 1950’s, Shanghai Night Jade Restaurant offered more than just a simple Chinese dinner, but also an experience that rings the nostalgic excitement.
Everything was like in the old days, with the dramatic oriental backdrop at Jade Restaurant set up as a stage, several old Shanghai hits were played during the dinner by the singer and Skycoustic band, giving a perfect old Shanghai ambiance to accompany good food by Chef Joey.
Guests were served with 6-course Individual Chinese Set Menu, exclusively prepared by Chef Joey and his team. The dinner started with the delicious easy bite – Shanghai Four Kingdom; Pot stickers, Siu Mai, Shanghai Bun and Wonton Soup, then continued with the delicate Seared Prawn with Longjing tea and Cordyceps Mushroom Braised Meatball. The guests were then served with squirrel fish in Shanghainese style, Garlic Grilled Oyster Rice, and dinner ends with a special dessert, The Snow Custard Sweet Corn Roll.
During the night, the Executive Chef Joey himself and all Jade Restaurant team personally welcomed and engaged with the guests. Sharing some stories and conversations about the old times. Savoring in the intimate setting of Shanghai Night with fellow friends and families, guests were welcomed to sing and enjoy the festive night together.
Fond farewell, additional souvenir of beautiful Chinese Calligraphy is one of the event special highlight too. Beautiful strokes of meaningful Chinese letters are given to the guests as souvenirs. Calligraphy offers an important channel for the appreciation of traditional culture and embodies important aspects of artistic heritage.
